I needed one box ammo.  Ordered it from Midway.  The box they sent it in was big enough if I had ordered 10 boxes of ammo.  Just seemed a little silly to send one box of ammo in a shipping box this size.

Yeah probably cheaper to buy and easier to sort lots of that one size box than a bunch of different smaller sizes. I don't have any doubt they do it the cheapest way possible.  :pleased:

I bought one 50 round box of 22 magnum ammo a few weeks back (that's all they'd allow), and mine came in the same box. Over $5 shipping.

 

They were, however, the only place I could find where I could buy them at all.

their shipping has gotten more reasonable.   They use a lot of bubble wrap.  Big bubbles.

 

I doubt Uncle Larry is missing any angles.

Maybe this was a subliminal message get you to order more and fill the box next time (it wasn't). 

 

Though, I'd imagine the suprise of those filling the order was greater than yours at the size of the packaging.  "One box of ammo...nobody orders only one box.  We're always shipping it out en masse."

That's right I can't, because I always find it cheaper somewhere else and order there. And the new reduced shipping still isn't reasonable for the few items I have checked.

I like big boxes. Dented ammo sucks.

I think that sometimes Midway (...and others...) ship in big boxes to "camoflauge" what might be in the box... I've seen some little bitty stuff delivered at out house that wuz in a big box with lots of bubble wrap...

Ammo is heavy. When the UPS guy hurls it at your front door, the extra padding helps.
