Missouri SB656 Arms Teachers

Their state legislature had to override a veto to get it done, but they did it. Training will be required and participation by districts is not mandatory. Knowing how liberal most principals and superintendents are, I doubt many schools will ever take advantage of this potentially life-saving legislation.

The bill also apparently lowers the permit age to 19, allows open carry, prevents MDs from asking about guns in the home, and prohibits discrimination against gun owners in housing. That's one heck of a bill from the looks of it. :stunned:

Thanks for posting this... I think this is, indeed, interesting... It looks as if the state legislature is tired of governor nixon (...they should be...)...

It already is not a criminal offense to carry inside a school in Missouri WITH a license.  All the school can do is ask you to leave.  I guess this bill keeps the teachers from being fired when it is approved by the school district.

Too bad Tennessee can't fix this problem for people with handgun carry permits.
