AR and AK pistol help needed

The shortened ejection port is nothing but an easily removed plastic block. To swap it out all you need is another ejection port cover. The uppers are standard uppers with the block in place.

Now there might be some dedicated uppers out there but I don't ever recall seeing them.

Agreed most are but the 7075 lowers and matching uppers DDLES got before were fixed. They matched the hand guard, it was before they started using the Mur uppers as an option.

At the moment I think I want it to look as much like a SBR as it can while still being a pistol and not needing to get a tax stamp.

As work slows down this fall I am going to buy a few pistols in the AR and AK platforms. What is the best barrel lengths and why? I plan to put Sig braces on them as well. Any other help on what to get and what to avoid? Anyone have any experience with a 9mm AR pistol? As always any help is much appreciated.

I am actually building a few right now... I am going with a 7" railed upper, I bought KAK SB15 buffer tube kits, and am going to get the KAK muzzle (basically a one piece noveske pig) previously i bought some stripped lowers from PSA when they where under $50 bucks a piece, and a few LPK's for under $40 that came with a blackhawk grip... my buddy has the website for the uppers, think they are just under $300 with NO BCG, but company is going to make them with a 7sih inch barrel and a 9ish inch rail to get the look we are after... as you can see I'm trying keep costs as low as possible lol

The Noveske pig is not like any of the other look alike muzzle devices out there. If the muzzle device is a one piece it is inferior to the Noveske. The Noveske is a single baffle suppressor, silencer, and that is why it works so well. It is just like most other silencers out there except it is much shorter. And I very surprised it was not regulated by the ATF because it does do an amazing job. I have tried both the KX3 and the one piece look alike devices and there is no comparison.

There are cheaper versions of the 3 piece out there that work way better than the one piece versions.

The KAK is just a funnel and the Noveske is a single baffle suppressor. The gasses get caught up inside the Noveske while the gasses just get trumpeted out of the KAK. If all you are looking for is the look of a KX3 then go ahead and get the KAK but if you want performance get the KX3 or one of the clones I linked above.

The KAK and the Noveske are not even in the same ball park when it comes to performance.

The cone is inside the outer tube but there is a gap between the outer tube and the cone so gasses go into the area between the cone and outer tube and are held there temporarily. This is what reduces the flash, noise and recoil. The KAK is just a cone, like a trumpet, and does nothing but make the gun louder and does not reduce flash at all.

Here is a video showing the KX3 performance

Anyone have any experience with any of the Sig factory built AR pistols?

You can even hear the difference between the guns.

ahhh yes now i see... there was no flash at all that i saw from the guy i assume was using the KX3...

Yes, that is the KX3.

Not only does it reduce flash, felt recoil and noise to the shooter it also increases the pressures needed for reliable operation of the gun. The cheap version I linked should work just as well for 50% of the cost.

Note they take estimated 8 weeks to build.

Don't think they have that exact config in stock, but Radical sells complete pistolas through Primary Arms too, 'bout same pricing, and ready to go:

http://www.primaryarms.com/Complete_AR_15_Pistols_s/6686.htm

The folks who have bought them on arfcom haven't dissed them at all, seem happy enough. If that buffer tube puts your schnoz right on the charging handle and ya don't like it, can always go to a longer one and/or with spacers.

Whatever you get, do yourself a favor and get a more upright pistol grip, huge improvement for a short LOP firearm. Your wrist, elbow, and shoulder will thank you.

Which of these AK pistols is better? What is everyones thoughts on the shorter barrel? Is their such a thing as to short?

7.62x39 doesn't take as big a hit proportionally as does 5.56 in a short barrel.

You'll have to doll them up some if you want to do the brace thing. Dolo's mini Draco:

My PAP 92 (10" barrel):

I am thinking about getting this at the same time. Not sure I am ready for something like you'll have.

Thoughts?

My nose touches front of receiver using Garufa's on a M92, but doesn't seem to bother him (and I do have a relatively long nose I guess :)). You can however replace the buffer tube that's in it with a longer one.

Not sure if it works on Mini or Micro Draco or only on the regular one, though? Somebody else will have to answer that one.

Did a quick look around and seems it does work on both, but double check that yourself.

Yugo AK-47 Pistol Model PAP M92PV With forearm brace from CAI can be picked up for a reasonable price ~$500-$625.

I added a quad rail, optics and a flash hider. It seems to be a very effective weapon. At 25 and 50yds I'm hitting 8" steels consistently.

The forearm brace takes a little to get used to either on your forearm or not.

I found mine at Goodletsville gun shop, great people to deal with.
