PK380 trigger question.

My wife's PK380 has a horrendous trigger. Single action is heavy. Double action is impossible. I was trying to figure out why she was all over the paper, once I took hold of it, I knew immediately. I had a PK380 awhile back and it had an awesome trigger, light and snappy. This trigger is worse than my old Tokarev. She has better luck with my Glock and USP for target practice, but both are too large for her dainty hands. She loves the PK and it's ambidextrous controls, so replacing it is out of the question, for now. Before I jump into the big scary ocean of Google, does anyone have any recommendations? Don't really want to take it in and pay somebody for something I could possibly do. But we are going in for our CCDW permit in a few weeks and don't want this to be an issue.

If she does fine w/ the glock for target practice, use it on the test while you figure the other one out.

I don't know the PK well but replacement springs (usually $10 or less) or a DIY polish job on something are the leading fixes.  Most of the time its a spring.  Some gun's can't be fixed -- its a matter of leverage and lack of space to get it in some frames/designs esp micro revolvers --- but usually it can be done.  The trigger return spring is "free" -- so long as the trigger resets, its fine to go really light.   The actual hammer spring.. can only be so weak before you get light strikes.
