My first sheath....

I made it out of .08 kydex......for my first one it came out pretty good.  It has good retention and looks pretty decent.....and can be ambidextrous. it's laid out for a Blade-Tech Tek-Lok at 1 1/2" between holes...

Hey that looks good, you wouldn't want to make one of those for that blade your making me would you?

I might.......I need to gain a little more experience first. It took me forever.   It's the reason I made this one though....to offer a sheath for the knives I make.......at least most of them. :P

Awesome first try....you might be missing your true calling...

Believe me I found shaping steel to be a lot easier than shaping kydex.  I need more  practice.

You're killin' me, GT. First the ProTechs, now I'm drooling at everything you post.

I'm afraid to ask... about what kind of ballpark are we talking in terms of you making something like the zombie blade? More, less, or close to what we're putting in towards the Godfather?

I want a zombie blade with blue scales sumthin' awful, and I've never spent more than $20 on a fixed blade before!

Oh, and that sheath looks awesome! I'd love to see a pic showing its thickness.

Another crazy idea... (as I sit where all the crazy ideas are dreamed up, the porcelain throne) what about a boot knife and sheath, but the handle of the knife is thinner on the leg side, so it hugs up better for the wearer? Almost like a carry melt on a pistol, but only on the inside. Is that totally stupid, or already been done?

Sorry if that's a dumb idea... the Rockeye was my first intro to nice blades, and I'm just starting to explore this (ANOTHER!) hobby.

I have a blue handled sheath in stock. PM sent.

Second about the boot knife....show me some pictures and dimensions and maybe I can come  up with something.

And the sheath thickness....I'll try to get a picture of that and post it up.

Wow! That's pretty fantastic! Sooper thin!

As for the boot knife, I don't really have any measurements in mind or anything, just thinking generally about some kind of smaller blade that would pretty much disappear on a body. Not something that would get a lot of use, but would always be on your person. I was thinking that if the blade were not centered in the handle like normal, but maybe moved inward (to the left, for a right handed person) then it would present a more flat surface. Maybe even no grip panel on the left side at all? It really is all conjecture at this point, and I was curious if anyone else already had the thought. :)

So are you saying that the knife would only have one scale....on the right side looking at the steel from the rear? I suppose anything can be made for the right person...never really thought about making a boot knife before. I have one but it's just steel...it has no scales at all. Not this one but something like it....you get the idea.

Will try to post a pic of the sheath 10killr and I made of his Grand Torino knife. Turned out pretty good but pales in comparison to the blade!

I use a home made press of 3/4 mdf, 4 bar or c-clamps, and 2" neoprene foam from ebay. Toaster oven the kydex at 350 till soft then toss it in the press and clamp around object for 10 min. Then strait to the fridge to set. The beautiful thing about kydex is if you screw up, toss it back in the heat and go again.

I added a little belt loop to this sheath made from .08 kydex and some black cordura fabric. I liked the fabric cause on a larger knife it lets it hang down naturally at your side. This knife and sheath need to go....  Help find a good home for this. It can be used for either left or right hand carry.
