Best onine vendors for 5.56 ammo?

My son just bought a new AR15 and I thought I would do the good "Dad" thing and buy him some ammo to enjoy shooting.  I'm looking for pretty basic FMJ ammo and probably in a 420-500-1000 bulk pack.

 

Who do you normally buy your 5.56 ammo from that you would recommend?

If he's OK with steel cased, Wal-Mart has had some 500-ct. spam cans of Tula for $113 out the door over the past few months. Hit or miss on availability.

We have a running threads of 5.56, 7.62x39 and 22lr deals in the benefactor area.

 

Right now there is a 5.56 deal for $241 shipped and brass cased for $319 shipped.

 

Another BIG deal is the Turkish M855 spec ammo the Walmart sells. They have been on sale for $9.97 for 30 rounds.

I also get the e-mail flyers from SGAmmo. Good company and they frequently have some decent sales.

 

SlickGuns is also a good search-site for gun gear and ammo.

I visited Cabelas in Greenville, SC this week, and they had Herters 20 round box for $5.99 (steel case).  Thats $0.30 per round.

That is correct, Paypal has a "Pay with Debit or Credit Card" function.

Thanks for the recommendations.  I ended up ordering some from Palmetto State Armory for just a little over .35/round delivered.  Now to see how it shoots when it gets here.  Supposed to arrive middle of the week.
