NY Gunstore Records Seized Under Threat

AFAIK, this hasn't been mentioned on TGO yet? Happened about 5 days ago now.

http://nation.foxnews.com/2014/09/07/ny-gun-shop-owner-ordered-turn-over-customer-records

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014/09/03/gun-shop-owner-says-hes-been-forced-to-turn-over-165-customer-records-why-he-fears-door-to-door-confiscation-could-be-next/

Can't find anywhere exactly what "records" were demanded. Meaning, pretty sure only feds can demand to see 4473s, not sure about sales records and maybe bound book too?

Not any followup stories with newer info that I can find.

Cops can demand anything I guess. A cop could knock on my door and demand I give him an ice cream sandwich and a seat at my table. Ain't gonna let him without a warrant though.

This thing stinks. “Undercover” Officers don’t generally make themselves known. Threat of a SWAT team?? Emailing lists?? Narcotics Enforcement Unit??

I will be curious to see if NY State Police comment.

And a request for money.

We are raising money for legal expenses to protect my customers, my business and my constitutional rights.

Joseph Palumbo, co-owner of the Albion Gun Shop, released information today that New York State Police officers from the Narcotics Enforcement Unit demanded the shop’s release of all customers who purchased New York SAFE Act compliant rifles under threat of a warrant less SWAT Team Raid.

We are attempting to raise money to help with legal expenses and to raise awareness that our CONSTITUTIONAL rights are being INFRINGED.

That is indicative of what is next. They are wanting to know who bought guns that are compliant and why would they want that? probably for the next round of gun controls where they will outlaw the compliant guns.

NYC, and probably a lot of the state, have become overrun by government thugs. I thought there was going to be an uprising with the Safe Act but they are just moving away. Which brings me to something else that is really disturbing to me. They are moving away and coming to places like Tennessee. I have spoke to a couple people who have moved here because they thought TN was better. But after they got here they felt it wasn't enough like NY for them and one was even talking about suing his local governments to try to make more like NY he left.

So let me get this straight, they demended release of all customers who bought rifles that were legal under their new law? That's proof to me that they are not satisfied untill they have a complete ban on all firearms peroid. That also strengthens my vow to never go to any of those states for any reason.

You can bet New York does not want yo there anyway 1911 because you don't think like they do. They could care less if you ever came to New York. Heck they are trying to drive out all their gun manufacturing and unemploying many New Yorkers and now they are having to promise all kinds of goodies to manufacturers to try and get them to come their. If I was wanting to open up a Marshmellow factory I would not open one in New York if they gave me free taxes for life............jmho

Is that guy from New York that is not happy and wanting to sue the county he is living in still breathing? If he is he is one very lucky SOB................jmho

Wonder how their little ad campaign has been working out for them, to me it sounds like they are desperate to get businesses to move in. Probably smart businessmen and women know better than to trust (promises) from the government of New York.

After the passage of the SAFE Act in NY, I quit my job, sold my house and retired to East TN.   I live in a village with 4000 homes and most here are retired from Ohio, Ill, Mich.

I open carry when I walk the dogs and no one makes a fuss.   When I visit a retail store, I generally conceal.

Do I think TN will turn out like Colorado?  ....not a chance.
