Which of the Glock Gen 4 pistols seem to have a pretty good track record and which Gen 4 has an awefull track record . Now that the Gen 4 flaws or mishaps have almost gone I was wondering which particular model seems to fun almost perfect ?

Out of these models 17,19,26,27,22,23

I have a 19.  Only issue has been brass-to-the-face with 119 gr ammo.  But that's more of an annoyance than an "issue."  Otherwise, it has been absolutely flawless.

I have a gen 4 26 that has been flawless.  I think they have the issues worked out.  Buy based on what you need not on the worry of an issue.  Glock has always stood behind their products.

I have Glock 19's in gen 3 and gen 4. I like the feel of the checkered grip of the gen 4 but the gen 3 carries better for me. I use a Bianchi 7 Shadow pancake holster and the checkering on the gen 4 wears on the skin pretty badly.

The 26/27 use the same recoil spring as earlier models so they never experienced those growing pains. The 40 calibers tend to have a few less reports of brass to face. Just buy whichever one fits your needs best a go from there. I had a Gen4 19 that was pretty much flawless and a Gen4 26 that had maybe 5 cases of BTF out of several hundred rounds. I don't think I have had a single BTF out of 5k rounds of 40 through gen 4 23/27. Edited by Patton

My 17 still has occasional brass to face.  It was terrible when I first got it, so Glock sent me a replacement recoil spring.  Then I installed the updated ejector as well as an APEX extractor.  These parts combined improved brass to face dramatically, but I still have erratic ejection patterns with occasional BTF.  Overall I like the gun, but I prefer M&P.

Glock 21-flawless-some people have reported weak ejection.

Glock 23-I had issues when it was new-failures to eject/feed. That was 4 years ago. I've not had a problem with it since then and it's my nightstand gun.

I also want a gen 4 17 and have no concerns with it being unreliable.

I was one of the ones that had issues with my Glock 19 gen4. I bought it when they first came out. To be fair it shot duty ammo flawless but did not like WWB or range ammo. Once Glock sent me the newer recoil springs which they did twice as they made tweaks to each one the gun runs 100% on all ammo types. I would not hesitate to buy one of any type now. I also have a Glock 22 gen4 FDE that has been 100% since day one.
