Shop Kroger

Well, I think Kroger is about the biggest retailer the Moms club has jumped on. Target was big but does not even get near the power of Kroger. Unless Kroger Stores do experience what the Target Stores did in much bigger numbers I believe Kroger will pretty much stand their ground on their decisions and will not be Bullied.....................jmho

They have a precedent of not being bullied -- they left 'Nooga lock stock and barrel years ago rather than cave to union demands.

They are rambling now about how a guy is OC'ing in a TN Kroger. The post is the usual mix of misinfo and vague facts mixed together. I really can't stand that .org ....

Someone needs to put the FACTS together and prove to them that they have a better chance of being struck by lightening than being shot by someone legally carrying a weapon in Kroger or wherever else they want to boycott. I know they won't listen. But it would be fun to watch a statistician really prove to them they are crazy. That would make for a great doctoral thesis. Anyone know any post grad students in math looking for something to do. JTM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I hate that these businesses are being used and threatened by both sides. Neither sides “boycotts” will amount to squat; I hope the businesses understand that.

Well, it looks like you all may need to fill out a comment on their site.  that bullsh!t everytown group is starting a campaign to contact kroger and tell them to ban guns.

don't sign up on this link on accident http://act.everytown.org/sign/kroger-petition-2/

instead drop them a line here: https://www.facebook.com/Kroger

or here: https://www.kroger.com/customercomments

Normally I would say let it go, but if all they hear are comments from the anti's, they'll probably fold just to avoid any conflict.

If Kroger has to make a choice, between Moms against guns and open carry, I dare say Moms will win. As has been stated in other post, Kroger sales groceries. Moms buy groceries. :meh: Don't give them an issue and there won't be one. Keep your gun out of sight.

But dads shop at Kroger too. Not just moms. Keep your weapons concealed and out of sight and there won't be any issue even if this MDA thing is sucessful. Stores want our business regardless if we do or don't carry. MDA is just another "bully" organization funded by those who are misguided into thinking anyone with a openly carried firearm is going to be the next unsafe shooter. Remember, they are going after those that openly carry firearms in these places. And in turn those that they are sucessful in getting the rules changed seem to want to ban firearms altogether.

I've read where since Target banned firearms in their stores, that there have been several robberies in the parking lots of said stores in parts of Georgia.

I've not set foot in a Starbucks since they banned firearms. I'll still buy their coffee, but if i'm ever near a starbucks store, I'll do drive thru. Target, I still patronize, but I conceal. Not taking a chance on getting robbed by some thugs in the parking lot.

Some of the anti gun crazies over on the Kroger Facebook page are posing the question "Why does anyone need a gun to shop for produce/groceries/whatever?"

Here's why (Smith's is owned by Kroger):

So THAT'S why I couldn't find a Kroger in Chackanooga. Well, good for them.

Kroger is unionized.  Anyone that says otherwise is wrong.

  • Kroger had 338,000 employees at the end of fiscal year 2010, with a “majority” being unionized, primarily by the UFCW and Teamsters. (Source: Kroger’s 10-K report for fiscal year 2010, Part I Item 1, p. 2)

I'm shocked that a story like that even made the news. A good guy with a gun and saving lives and it made the news?  That is outstanding...................  I cannot believe they did not edit out what the officer said giving the armed citizen credit for stepping in. Like I said OUTSTANDING!!!!!....................jmho

Starbucks didn't ban firearms and I don't believe Target did either.  They made a statement that they requested you don't bring in firearms, but that was just to appease the morons.  If you conceal carry, go about your business and you are fine.

In all honesty I know it is everyone that has a carry permits the right to open carry. I will never argue that fact ever. My question is why do some folks want to open carry or feel they need to open carry? I kind of like the fact that open carry is "NOT" required because I might not carry 1/10th as much as I do now. I like the fact of knowing I can protect my self if the need should ever arise but I don't think the whole world needs to know I have a gun on my person at that particular time. I don't know if an open carry person feels more secure having it a second or two more accessible or if it is ego or just plain old convenience but I would like to hear a few reasons beyond the Constitutional Right Reason  which is what usually comes up.......................jmho

Thanks Sam.  I sent a message to their Customer Comments page to thank them and let them know I will continue to support them because of their stance.

Yep, and they already were before they left 'Nooga as I understand it.  The Hamilton County part of whichever union, unlike any others,  pulled a work stoppage during overall negotiations, I believe right about 1990, and Kroger simply ducked out,  sold them all to Red Food, which later sold them to Bi-Lo, which is the predominant chain there still. It was apparently a message taken to heart by the union everywhere else.

Chattanooga is only metropolitan area in the state with no Kroger presence, I guess they never found it financially attractive enough for the investment to jump back in.

Also looks like that mom's group is going through their FB page and deleting all of the comments that question their stupidity/don't go along with their goals so it looks like everyone agrees with them lol.

Went from over 1000 comments yesterday to 150 today.  I guess 85% of the population not agreeing with them would be about right.

why would you want to carry into a kroger?
Exhibit 1 from last nite in Memphis at Poplar/Highland.

I have saved the video but do not know how to post it here.
Direct Link to just the video

Would this be a justified shoot to fire at the ones kicking him in the head?

You can leave comments at news channel 5 .com. IMHO I have 2 words for every idiot that is against conceal carry : Christian- Newsome.

doubt having a gun would have helped them kids.  They were making out when they got jacked.  Never saw it coming.

Lesson here is to lock the car doors.

Standard operating procedure for MDA and EveryTown since their inception. No surprise here.
