gray box 22lr at Academy Sports

Definitely do not use them in a rifle. I was at a local shop that had about 8" of bullets stuck in the barrel. They tried everything but finally had to torch the barrel to melt the lead out.

Looks like an excuse to buy a 22lr revolver then. My wife picked up two boxes not knowing.

Thanks everyone

Have any of you actually used them? I have. Gonna need some more info. If they're Aguila SUPER Colibri that average ~500fps, for example...I've shot them out of my 20" barreled bolt action quite a bit. Good up to about 20 yards (at a target) and quieter than a pellet gun. If it's just the Aguila Colibri that average ~375, I wouldn't shoot them in anything but a pistol. As always, YMMV, but I've shot about 500 SUPER Colibri out of my bolt action Edited by KKing

I've got an Ithaca 49 single shot with an 18" barrel that I shoot the heck out of Super Colibris through. They're accurate and sound "suppressed"...really nice for "back yard safaris."

I've shot the regular Colibri through the Ithaca as well, but it wasn't planned, just got a box in the mix of the Supers. Probably shot a half dozen before I thought, "gee, these seem quieter." lol

I bought a bunch of Super Colibris back when things got stupid but they were still at a normal price.  Decent enough ammo out of my single action revolver's.  Still need to wear hearing protection.  The primer will ring your ears.

They also work out of the short Savage Cub Mini Youth, it has a 16.5 inch barrel.  They did not exit out of a full sized single shot rifle.  Tapped the one round out easy enough though.

They are real quiet out of the youth rifle.   I have not tried them through any other rifles.  I figure it is just asking for trouble,

[quote name="TrickyNicky" post="1185262" timestamp="1409583594"]As mentioned the super colibri are generally fine through a rifle in my experience. I load the Henry up and plink away. Other than that I just use them in my revolver or single shot through a semi.[/quote

Love my Henry Frontier joy to shoot and plenty aaccurate. I was wanting to get some range time in now that temps are
Dropping a bit. Good to hear they will work in a Henry.

There is no powder, primer only.

It won't have the power to make it out of a rifle barrel, that is why they suggest them for handgun only. This is usually for close range rodent control in confined spaces.

I have shot it from a 10-22 without any issue.   It may vary from gun to gun on that but we shot half a box of it out of a rifle without incident.   I also hit a 2x4 with it from a pistol and it bounced off.   It also bounced off a plastic detergent type jug.   I doubt it would kill a rat and suspect all it will do is punch paper at a few yards, quietly.
