So here it is...my version of the recurved blade.  It's 1/8" 1095 carbon steel heat treated professionally to RC59-60. As you can see it has nice large jimping to the front of the handle as well as within the handle on both the top and bottom. Even though the jimping is large it isn't rough on the fingers at all.The scales are cocobolo dymondwood and this thing if big.....right at 13" total length and a blade length of about 7". It has a nice long handle ....no wondering how your gonna grip it here. laugh.gif  It has a lanyard hole and the handle is held on mechanically as well as with epoxy.

The finish is very unique and I really like how it turned out. Truth be told it's so different I'm not sure I could even recreate it again if I tried. it seems very well balanced and I've very happy the way it turned out.

Yet again, cool. Does the etching have any depth to it, or does it just give the appearance of depth?

Depending how long you etch will determine depth of etch. It this case the line you see running across the  blade actually has depth to it. You can see it and feel it.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I'm learning with every one I do. Anyone interested in this one? It is not yet spoken for.

Ya think you could do "text" as in "In God We Trust" or "From My Cold Dead Hands"?

No....I'n not that talented yet. :( Although I'm sure I could get it professionally engraved but you would be responsible for the additional cost depending on the words, size of the engraving and the cost of the service.

It looked like it had depth but I thought it might just be an illusion due to the color difference.

Interested?  Heck yeah!  I'm guessing you'd want money in exchange for it though...   I am curious what something like this would cost.  Feel free to PM if you'd rather not post it.
