AK trigger fix

So I went to the range today to sight in my Aimpoint H1. I got sidetracked while there as my rifle developed a bit of a trigger reset problem. The gun would fire and cycle a new round into the chamber, but the trigger would not reset to allow me to fire. After getting back home and doing some research online (found a video on youtube) I discovered the trigger spring was sliding over the sear (?) and blocking the trigger from moving forward. After a little tweaking of the bend in the spring the trigger will drop and reset when the bolt is cycled and the spring stays put. Just thought it was a small first accomplishment for me to fix an issue like that even though it's probably not a big deal to some of you guys...

It actually is pretty common on some AKs. I had a Saiga that seemed to do it all the time and required a new spring before it would stop slipping off.

 

AKs are pretty basic and are extremely easy to work on.

Yea, it seemed pretty easy after I started messing with it. I guess I was just a little intimidated since the only other "smithing" I've done is putting a set of sights on a G19...
