This is my first OTF knife and I'm impressed with the microtech.  This knife will in my pocket daily.  My concern with an accidental opening was unfounded.

Not unless you keep a small jack hammer shaped like a thumb in your pocket.

It will never happen with an authentic Microtech

Before receiving the knife I was worried this could be a concern.  After getting the knife in my hand I realize an accidental opening could never happen.  I'm very pleased with the design of the Microtech.

My MT extends with out any problem but is difficult to retract.  I'm sure this will improve with use.

Mine has loss end some over time. It was damn near impossible to deploy one handed. Now it works great unless my hands are cold or wet, and like you it's retracting that's hard.

I wonder if it could be changed out to something a bit more comfortable.[/quote] I believe there are some alternative options. They make one with a roller ball that isn't sharp but still breaks glass. Might have to google-foo that though
