TC Contender Barrel Nuts

Recommended Posts

I have a barrel nut missing on one of my TC Contender barrels. It's the dove tail mounted nuts that the forend screws screw into. I've looked on the internet, and haven't found any. I'd like to walk into a LGS, or gunsmith shop and pick one up at a reasonable price in the Murfreesboro area.

Any Contender guys on here that know where I can find some? I might be able to get some from Numrich or others, but hope to find some locally. Don't want to pay $12 for shipping for a $2 barrel nut! Thanks for your help.

Good luck. If you find them for sale locally I would buy a lottery ticket because I have NEVER seen them sitting on the shelf of a gun store.

Ebay has 2 of them for $16.50 shipped. Less than $20 for something you might spend years searching for is pretty cheap.

Call Thompson Center. I have bought parts with good results and in the past ,they have sent me some parts at no charge.

May want to try specialty pistol forum. I wouldn't be surprised some of those guys have some laying around they would give you. It's always a good place for contender questions.

Recently? Because that have done exactly squat for me and my requests.

Last year I called and was told to send an email with my request. I sent an email and the first response was a canned response saying it will take some time to respond. The next email, over a month later, was asking if I was satisfied with their response and that the case was now closed. Nothing in between the two emails. I was asking if the frames I had left the factory as rifles, pistols or frames and provided serial numbers.

Thanks for the replies. I'm only shooting a .22 Hornet, so the recoil is very light. With that in mind, I can wait and look around for a while. I have an ad over on GOC, so maybe something will turn up there. I'll keep looking!

Yes, but mine was for buying parts and questions on a barrel's extractor. I spoke with a gunsmith. Never called for historical data.
