Witnessed a .22LR miracle today

Saw 7 or 8 boxes of 225 count Remington Goldens in my nearby Walmart at 10 a.m. this morning.  I had to take a triple take to make sure I was reading the labels correctly.   Then I glanced around to make sure I wasn't going to get trampled by hoarders/gougers.  No one but me at the ammo section.

I told the section clerk we were witness to a miracle. She chuckled.

Those were the first .22lr I had seen in that store since before Sandy Hook.  I'm not too keen on Goldens so passed them by. Pre state sales tax price was 5.33 cents per round I think.

.05 a round ain't bad... I don't know that I'll be as excited as most folks to see all the bulk packs back. I've gotten spoiled some on the higher end "specialty" .22lr. Don't get me wrong, I'll be happy, but I'd rather see federal match in the 325 round boxes that the value pack 550 box.

This has been me for quite a while.  I have never been one to just blast through 30 rounds, it just doesn't do anything for me.  I really enjoy trying to see how small of groups I can get with my guns and for that it takes a little (to lot) better ammo.  I really like SK Standard Plus and SK Pistol Match for the price.  I have some Eley Match EPS that I have played with, but man that is expensive.

For me it's been mostly subsonic that's held my interest. Having a can in limbo I've been stocking up. Some of the hyper-super-velocitie stuff has been fun too. I bought some Eley Match awhile back and feel bad about it. I'll feel bad shooting it, I'd feel bad selling it, for over a year now it's been a little 50 round, $20.00 paperweight. one day I'll buck up, load two AR22 magazines and go through $20 of 22lr in 45 seconds. That'll be fun.

I generally shoot SV ammo now.  I couldn't find any SK Standard so went to bullets.com and had 3 bricks of Norma Tac22 shipped for about 158.00 for all three.  I would buy CCI SV if I could find any at a decent price.
