I'm not implying anything by this this question, I am genuinely curious. Did you really carry a Garand in the Army?

Sure did. I carried the M1 Garand during basic training in '62.  It was heavy but you got use to it quick.  It was damm accurate at the range and fun as heck firing the grenade launcher at "tanks" made out of rubber tires, and at bayonet training:)    :usa:

If you have a Hi-Point, it is required (by law) that you carry it in the open in an Uncle Mike's nylon holster anytime you shop at Walmart. I'm pretty sure.

He, he, he, Guess I'm in violation of the unwritten "law" since I CC'ed in a Forbus.

We were issued "well used" M16A1's. both in basic and at Ft's Stewart. I'm sure most of them were dragged from one end of S. Vietnam to the other.

HCP arrived in the mail today!  Took the class/range on 8/2, DMV paperwork on 8/4, fingerprints on 8/5, and the permit arrived on 8/18.  Want to get some more range time in soon.   Carrying comes with an awesome responsibility to only use the weapon in your defense when you are in immediate danger of severe injury or lost of life.  Jim

Congratulations!!! I have been looking for a class to take, or an instructor, close to me.
