Google Chrome Not Responding

Can anyone tell me why my computer would freeze every time I visit a select few websites?

I can surf the interwebs all day without issue, as long as I don't go to WKRN.com, WSMV.com, TMZ.com, and maybe a couple others. No issues on TGO, Facebook, Youtube, or countless other websites I am constantly visiting.

Is there anything I can do on my end to resolve this issue?

install a plugin to block the stuff from running.  I use do not track me plus:

FireFox runs into the occasional script it doesn't like too, but it does alert you after maybe 15 seconds, gives you a chance to ignore it and carry on.

Chrome froze up for me a few days ago. It would open, but would never load any pages. I found this tech note: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/142059?hl=en

and it fixed my problem. It did, however, clear out all of my settings, so I had to re-enter things like saved passwords on TGO, etc.

Welcome, there may be something that works better, but I've been satisfied with this one for a few years now
