Help deciding on grips

Recommended Posts

I want to get another set of grips for my Commander but I'm having trouble deciding. Here's the gun they'd be going on. I love the grips that are on it, I just want another set.

And here's the grips I'm thinking about.

G10's w/thumb cut

Black Cherry or Blk/Gray

Or something like these.

I like Colt #2 also. But I'm old and I like wooden grips and stocks.

I like wood on my rifles, pistols and knives.

they be ugly, but you can't beat wrap-around rubber fingergrooves on a 1911 IMHO.   Well, some of the ultra target custom stuff for pro shooters is great too, but for $30 bucks, I will use my hogues.   This is assuming you want to shoot it, rather than just look at it, of course :)

I don’t carry my 1911 but for the range I use Pachmayr America legends; most comfortable grips I have found that still look good.LB2012web.jpg

I don't have old pics but I had a set of brushed aluminum slotted on my commander - have crimson trace on it now, just sits in the safe as it was my first gun when I became a cop way back ..... I think those would look good with that 2 tone you have though...  The black slotted ones would look good too... I was surprised how well they gripped with the slots... was worried about being click if I sweated or they got wet but I like the metal grips... ran some on my P238 when I had that too ...

I like the blk/gray...looks great with the 2-tone. IMHO...black slide + silver frame + wood grips = looks like a Kimber
