"Available" in that folks who check several stores most every day occasionally find some now.

Even I lucked out on a 325 round box at Academy down there in Brainerd last week. First bulk box I've found since Sandy Hook. My heart was all aflutter.  Also got a couple of 50 round boxes couple of days later, and have only found 4 of those over same time period.

The odds of actually finding the exact type/brand you want is still as remote as ever, however.

I saw two of those at the Knoxville Academy a couple of weeks ago.  I was in line behind some jackwagon and his buddy that he dragged in there.  Guess who didn't get one?  :wall:

Why are you wanting Stingers? They the worst 22 for everything. They are not accurate so they are no good for hunting. They do not make enough velocity and do not weight enough for a defensive option. For what most people think stingers are good for 22 shorts will fill the same role and do it better.

Not even close. The velocity out of those little guns is about 700 fps, less than a short which has the same weight bullet. I have tested Stingers in a 4.5" barrel and they never got above 1,000 fps, EVER, and the vast majority of times they were closer to 900 fps. Save yourself the extra noise and get something different. Also, Stingers, even if fired out of a rifle will never reach the vitals of a person as they pretty much disintegrate inside of a couple of inches.

Stingers must have a rifle length barrel to make their velocity claims.

For that you want to use Aguila SSS rounds. Even out of that little barrel they still provide ~8 inches of penetration.

I did not mean the specs listed for these would be the ones I would get, in the past I also have used the triple shock ammo!

This revolver has always been accurate till about 12 feet and was quite hard hitting!

How do you know it was hard hitting? Did you chronograph the loads or do any ballistics testing? Have you even shot a water jug with it?

I bet because it was LOUD you equated it to hard hitting. There is not a hyper velocity round on the planet that will outperform a standard velocity round when it comes to penetration. And penetration is ALL you have with a 22.

BTW, the CCI Triple Shock ammo is even worse than the Stingers.
