Groundhog Max ATV plow

Recommended Posts

Has anyone used the Groundhog Max ATV plow? I'm thinking about getting one to put in some remote food plots for deer/turkey. I just have an older 350 ATV, so I'm interested if my machine can handle the plow and if it really works. I already have a pull-behind Bushhog mower, so the grass/weeds will be cut.

It gets good reviews, and I think it might be the thing I need for the small (0.25 - 1.5 acre) plots. Just curious if anyone here has an opinion.

I was just looking at it on their website. It's the same price + tax, but I can walk out of the store with it. It would also be easier to return if I don't like it, so I might go that route. I just don't want to tear the life out of my old 350 Honda. Edited by Batman

I would be happier with this also (hands on and easier to return). It seems like it would be easier on the atv, also harder on your back in rocky areas lol.

Yeah, that's a good point. Probably pretty rough to sit on a plow and drive over rocks or stumps. Ouch! Might be a good time to let the kids drive to 4wheeler. Lol

Good call on TSC, Dane. I went by there today, and it was on sale for $329. I brought it home with me, so I'll give a review after I use it. My initial impression is very good. This is a solid piece of equipment. It even came with a receiver to install on my Honda. If it performs as well as it looks, I may not have as much use for my Ford tractor and implements

can't imagine it would hurt the quad

I think you're right. I was trying to imagine how it would attach since mine doesn't have a receiver hitch, but the kit comes with a very sturdy receiver attachment. Bolts to the frame and looks like it will work well.

I've been thinking about picking one of these up since last spring. I've got a spot near one of my deer stands that would make a great food plot, but it's got some really hard and rocky soil and I don't know how well it would work there. If anyone picks up one of these i'd love to hear a first hand review. Edited by div

I got it yesterday. I'll let you know when I try it out.
