Yeah, you're right, I've just had lots of real life experiences with people that thought that's how it goes down. :)

In talking to locals in the Amazon I've learned that piranhas are most dangerous in the dry season when the waters of the river have receded and left fish stranded in shallow ponds. Fish can go for a long time without eating and be ok, but after a few months they start to starve.

Maybe she was just top heavy and they were motorboating it until one of them got hungry... Just saying.
