In search of brass (Knoxville Area)

Hey fellow TGOers,

I'm getting ready to start reloading and thanks to David (dlm37015) and his great prices, I have purchase everything except brass.

I've been scavenging at the range, but not having much luck.

I want to start loading 9mm to begin with - so I need 9mm brass.

My next cartridge will the .223/5.56 - so I will eventually need .223/5.56

Also, if you have a rotary tumbler you have decided you no longer want or you upgraded - let me know.  I am leaning toward wet rotary tumbling with stainless steel media, but it will be a future investment unless a TGOer has something I might be able to use.

I will consider any reasonable prices.....

Should you be so gracious as to donate it, I will buy you a beer!   :x:

Thanks all.

If I had the knowledge of reloading years ago that I have now I would have never bought a traditional tumbler and especially not a dry tumbler. Ninety percent of the time I just shake my brass in a citric acid, water, and dish soap mix. I then rinse it about an hour later and then shake it dry while waded up in a towel. The result is brass clean enough for reloading. Really dirty brass gets sorted to go to a friends house for the stainless media bath in solvent. This is normally range pick up brass or brass on it's fifth or sixth reloading.

There will be a bunch of 9mm brass to scavenge after our training day on Sunday in South Knoxville. If you're willing I will give you access to the range next week

A little known secret if you don't care to drive 25 min south of the airport (McGhee Tyson), is Farnsworth Firearms in Vonore.  Since his business has a indoor range, he usually has many brass calibers.  During the great gun/ammo panic of 2013, I was always able to find brass (not 223) at normal pricing and usually at all that I want.  Call before you go.
