Let me re-phrase my question. I live in Knoxville. Where are the closest places (plural) to go for this Academy place?

WHy dont you go to the website and find the closet one?

I'm new to the AR world, so don't follow 5.56 / .223 prices til now. However, at Academy-Rivergate I just paid $5.29 a box of 20. At $0.26 a round, I figure that's reasonable. It was the "blue box" Monarch FMJ 55g.

weird...i saw the internal memo laying on a center table at one of the academy's when in bham and it said it was supposed to go until dec 27th or something like that.

Just imagine what .223 will sell like. I know I'm watching it like a hawk. If .223 will go that cheap, I'll drop a grand in an instant. God knows it will be the last chance to stock up cheap.

Yea the sale ended, i can understand why. My dad bought 7000 rounds. I talked to a guy i know from another mg board and he bought 71 cases. it was prob the last time we see it that cheap again.
