McMinn County Stockpile for Good or Evil?

You might see this article and video as an ominous warning about the buildup of a draconian police state.  But what if it turns out that this is good, military defensive weaponry that could eventually protect us from the REAL draconian police state?  I know for a fact that we've got some top-notch patriotic LEOs out there.  I guess it all depends upon who's behind the trigger.

Let them have all their weapons-n-crap...In the end, you still got to have someone on the other end of the gun/missile/etc to fire it..I also believe that in the end, most of the weapons they are ammassing will end up being turned against them<--(the govt)...

They arent going be able to control 350 million people, not in this day-n-age...

Seeing how sheriff departments are more gun friendly and better reflect the citizenry of the counties in which they serve, what's the problem? I'll guess they had some ARs before they got those evil M16s. Probably more 1911s owned by the citizenry of McMinn county than by the SD.

I'm undecided about Joe Guy.  Don't know if he's a good guy or a bad guy - trouble is, he's definitely a politician.  I despise politicians.

I think it's wrong to arm the state and local governments with weapons that are prohibited from the citizens.  Using history as a guide, protection from tyranny comes from the people, not the government.

I could use a few M16s, but there's no room in my garage for an armored humvee.  ;)

First, I whole hardly support Law Enforcement.       However,  my concern is more with the mindset with the influx of "military gear".    Many large cities already have a force that feels its "us vs them".    This needs to be tempered not re-enforced.             Already many wear BDU type pants and shirts instead of a traditional uniform, ball caps instead of the more traditional, vests on the outside with "POLICE"  for normal duty , etc.   Yes there are bad people but their interaction with everyone should not be the same.

This. The government shouldn't be able to have anything that citizens can't have, at least in regards to small arms. It defeats the purpose of the 2A.
