Best optic for AK slr107fr ?

Just recently got an 107fr, and its one of my fav. guns! Since it does have an optic rail, i would love to get an original type mil. one for it, i just dont know what would be best? I have heard some types are junk and since most likely it will run around $300. i would like to hear some responses please as to pros and cons! :rolleyes:Thanks.

Personally I get in touch with Tantal and see the "originals". I'd get a Kobra. Can't recommend them enough. Precision scopes are overkill on any AK. BTW the Kobra's have 4 reticles and are Russian built (like a tank) and will run you under $300.

Thanks, is Tantal back in business? I have read a lot of posts about problems on getting parts and stuff ordered from them, in the last yr. since he was really sick off and own, also he had been banned on 1 forum

for not delivering orders? As well as other problems his daughter was running it sometimes! I dont want to end up getting ripped off, or waiting months with no info! But in the past, he was one of a few vendors carrying the good stuff

That's news to me, but i'm not that up to date on the stuff. Everything I've ever needed I've been able to get. He runs out of stock quite a bit, but I chalk that up to getting Russia stuff imported.

I have an Eotech 552 on my 7.62x39 and a 3x Acog on the .308 the Saiga 12 has a C-more (no comparison to the Eotech) So far im really happy with the Eotech and Acog...the C-more's profile is its usefulness but if I was to do it again I would just buy one of those knockoffs instead and save about $150.00 over the C-more or spend the extra $150 and get an Eotech. Dont know about the Kobras but they look pretty cool.

I like the Aimpoint Micro T(if money is no concern) on a Ultimak. Nate is right the Kobra optics are built like tanks and will serve you well(and the AK is not a precision rifle...never will be). Good Luck!

All reports on the Larue is that the mount is built like a tank(no surprise there). The optic is actually a relabeled Burris Fast Fire. Definately an interesting option. I would like to see this type of mount for the Micro Aimpoint.

Own a couple of Gen 1 Kobras (AA batteries) and love them. One is 8 years old and seen thousands of rounds go downrange with zero issues.
