Difference in Comcast OnDemand and Streampix?

Recommended Posts

I just broke down and gave comcast an extra $15 per month to add limited basic cable in HD to my account. For some reason this package comes with HBO and streampix free. OnDemand is not available with limited basic cable based on what they are telling me but streampix is. I'm curious if anyone has streampix and if it's basically the same as OnDemand. These folks on the 800 number don't know their own product!!

StreamPix just has relatively small selection of movies, and they don't change very often. Dud movies make up significant percentage.

I thought On Demand came with any digital account -- you of course just get access to whatever premium channels your subscription includes, but lots of free movies, and they change more frequently.

Comcast is a racket. beware.  My bill suddenly dropped 25 bucks a month with no change in service.  I am waiting for the other foot to drop.

When I first signed up I had to call for 8 months straight to have to bill corrected.

That said I have digital HD.  I can only get streampix on the HD boxes.

All cable sux but what you gonna do?

Talked to another guy at Comcast last night that seemed pretty sharp. He said that all of the packages would include on demand now in most markets as long as you had one of the digital set top boxes. Not including the little adapter boxes. We will see once it comes in though. I don't really care for HBO but it will be nice to see what this Game of Thrones show is all about.

The really good shows, like Banshee, And Game of Thrones are what really draws us in. And it sure is great how each specific network has one that is so popular that you just have to have that channel...in addition to all the others.

Yes, we are all tv junkies it seems.

We recently signed up for just Internet service from Comcast. When they came to install it, they dropped off a couple of the set top boxes. We said we weren't getting tv and he said that we would get the most basic tv service included in the just internet service, so they give out the boxes. He also said, "By the way, HBO is included for you for fee."

We never even hooked up the boxes, so i don't even know if it really works or not.
