M&P Shield (Apex and Sights)
I wouldn't mind doing the Apex side... Just worried about the sights- since so many people have mangled their slides : ) will call those other two TrickyNicky- thanks!Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
Just a heads up but if you're going to install the DCAEK kit, you have to remove the rear sight anyway to install the new USB part.

Any luck with the other places? I was also worried about using a brass punch on mine and ended up using a delrin/plastic punch. The shields are tight but with a little heat applied and a good smacl in a vice it will come out. And you can't mess it up with plastic. If you have a vice and rubber inserts for it, it may be worth your money to buy a plastic punch and try it.

I used a brass punch with some tape for extra protection.  Some hardwood blocks on the slide in the vice, they actually came off pretty well. The front sight put up a little more fight than the rear.

I'm tagging along to find anyone who can recommend a gunsmith who has done this job with good results.  I have a Shield and 3 M&Ps I'd like to negotiate a "group install" deal on for a bunch of APEX kits.

I've done both of these myself, twice with the sights. If you have a solid bench with a vice, you can take care of everything yourself in less than an hour. Better than paying someone the same or more than you paid for the parts just to install everything.

Main equipment:

1. Bench with vice

2. 1/8" punch with masking tape

3. Hammer or mallet

4. Loctite for the new sights

5. An hour

6. Apex YouTube installation video(s)

7. A little patience

Everything with the Apex kit ended up being much easier to install than I expected. The only real issue with the sights is muscling up enough to get them off. As long as you get everything nice and tight in the vice, use some kind of pad/block between the vice and the slide, and take your time, you won't damage anything.
