Hello all-

I go by the name “Joe” and have lived in Kingsport since 2001. I was an Electronic Communications and Security Specialist with the Federal Bureau of Prisons and came here from up North to help activate a new Federal Prison in Lee County, VA. I recently retired this February and plan on spending the rest of my life here. My wife of 25 years is a native of Johnson City. I am a Grandfather and (unfortunately) the kids are still living up North. I served 8 ½ years in the Army from 1974 to 1983 and left with an Honorable Discharge.

I have been involved with guns (archery and fishing also!) since I was 7 thanks to my Father. I have acquired a collection of about 37 assorted long and hand guns in calibers ranging from air powered BB to 45-70 and 12 gauge shotgun. Though I enjoy shooting the .22 rimfire most often, I can reload all my center fire ammo including several wild cat calibers from .17 CCF to 300 Whisper for my TC handgun.

I am a life member of the Cherokee Rod and Gun club located in this area and had had a CCP since 2002. I enjoy shooting casual bench rest and silhouette with some “target of opportunity” (old golf balls, clay pigeons, breath mints, etc.) shooting in-between.

Though I am a member of several gun and shooting forums, this looks like one that is close to home and will serve my interests better. I have other interests like wood working and carving, radio controlled cars and planes and riding my 2003 Harley road King.
