2 dead after Kentucky rest stop shooting: http://www.wsmv.com/story/26030068/2-dead-after-rest-stop-shooting

This is nonsense. My lovely wife is a borderline road warrior. As much as she takes pit stops on her travels and as much as she does not want to handle a firearm, I'm thinking she might get an Airweight as an early bithday/xmas gift. Thanks to the new TN law this will be possible for her to "carry" within the state of course. Guess I need to check the other states that are within driving distance in her territory for legal beagle stuff.

My Kahr CM9 doesn't recoil nearly as much as my girlfriend's J frame. The J frame sits in my safe while she carries her Ruger LC9, which she bought mainly because it's purple.

KY is a gold star open carry state.

This is a tragedy but I ask myself why didn't the motorist turn his lights off...the other thing is even if he did.anyone that took that spot could have been the victim as the shooter had already made up his mind he was going that night and not alone....and that's the worst part.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 of course it ate my spelling.

Of course this is gnawing on my brain now that we are loading up tomorrow for a two day road trip. Stupid airline prices.

Folks, this isn't going to sound good for us gun owner's, but he wasn;t "stabbed", he was "shot". You can only get "shot" from a "gun". Just another feather in the anti's hat!

I don't use rest areas on the side of the interstate.  I know some people that do, and I tell them I would rather go to a city exit that has more people around instead of people from who knows where.  Allot of people like those rest areas because they are so easy to get on and off the interstate.  Well bad people know that as well.

I don't have to worry as much about a rookie hitting my truck in the truck stop.:P

That rest area is just 10 minutes from my house . I've been there several times it's definitely not a shady place, but it just goes to show we should always be ready. Sent barefoot from the hills of Tennessee
