What are my options?

9 mm Commander what are your options? 5" Government or 3.5" Officers frame are your options.... While I'm sure someone makes a Commander it's going to a higher dollar maker such as Kimber or better.... Nothing hard about shooting a .45 ACP in Commander frame at all; its got to be one of my favorite setups out of the entire 1911 family. Points the absolute best in the hand and recoil is just a big soft push...

get an Armscor made Legacy imported Citadel in 9mm.  Or get a 9mm 1911 custom made by some private maker.  Anything else other than an Armscor made 9mm 1911 is gilding the lily.

I have a Rock Island GI in 9mm. It's fun, accurate, and was reasonably priced. The only flaw is that its GI sights are hard for me, so I'm getting some hi-viz put on it.

I have two Citadels one 5" in .45 and a compact in 9mm both are very well fitted guns for their price point; they are made by Arnscor as you pointed out the same company that puts on the Rock Island Armory... Citadels have a higher level of fit and finish than a RIA

STI should have several models of 9mm commander sized 1911/2011

Im sure Wilson Combat or Nighthawk Custom would be happy to build you one.

I think Rock Island Armory makes one or two, not sure.

I just saw that Para is releasing their Black Ops Recon in 9mm that would be a Commander in 9mm although a double stack 18+1

I was looking at a 9mm rock island a4 1911. Looked really good and doesnt have the crappy a1 sights. Then I finally found my R350cr and now I am dying inside. I can afford both, but I dont want to spend that much.

I have two .45 acp Commanders and they are fine pistols.  I'm sure a 9 mm Commander would be a nice pistol.

For what it's worth, Republic Forge is our very own Jeff Meister's post Hero Gear venture.

That's sure the route I'd go!

If I ever get back into the 1911 world, a Dan Wesson 9mm Guardian is a top contender.

Except for the sights and grips, it's as if DW asked me what my perfect 1911 would be.
