A little help with brass value?

Hey all. I have acquired a good amount of brass since I began shooting 5 or 6 years ago. I do plan on taking up reloading at some point, but with the wife and I renting a house currently, I haven't been able to set up a reloading room. In short, I have no place for the supplies, and I'm running out of room as it is! I have considered selling some of the brass, but I'm not sure of what to ask for it? I have not cleaned or de-primed any of the brass. Does anyone have a guess at the current rates for:

.45 ACP

9mm

.223/5.56

7/62x51/.308

.40 S&W

I've been thinking of selling some of it to Freedom Munitions, as they apparently credit you $2.50 per pound of brass to an order on their reloaded ammunition. Bad idea? I feel like the 5.56, .45, and .308 brass would be worth more if I sold them by count instead of weight. I don't know. Any guidance would be appreciated!

Found this on the "High Road"

Rough number of empty primed brass per pound- this is what I use when I sell. May vary due to brand of brass. Not an absolute.

115 9mm
100 40 S&W or 357 sig
80 45 acp
100 38 spl
90 357 mag
145 380 auto
168 32 auto
75 .223 Remington (or any derivative such as 222 etc)
40 .308 Winchester (or any derivative such as 243 etc)
36 .30-06 Sprgfld (or any derivative such as 270 etc)

Us that buy brass use something like this.

Do a search, Castboolits is a good place to start for pricing.

What I have found:

9mm - $25-30
40 s&w - $20 (police caliber so very abundant) but also like $40 online or slightly more
45 ACP - $60-70
223 - $70
308 - $170-a crap ton... Depends on the make if brass. Is it PPU or Lapua?

Thanks for the info, Jeff and 173rd. The .308 brass consists of Winchester, MKE, Lake City, and South African surplus. I think the South African is berdan primed, but I kept it anyways.

308 is on the lower end of the spectrum. $170 per 1k is reasonable. I just picked up 1k LC12 from gunbroker for $168 shipped.

Is that per thousand?

Sold cartridge and scrap brass to local scrap yard a couple of weeks ago. $1.50 per lb. If you're planning on reloading in the future, would keep best head stamp brands and sell the other. It will always be worth scrap price and should appreciate in price as reloadable brass. If hildabeast win in 2016 it may be as hard to get as 22rf ammo is now.
