A 1911 that's uglier than a Glock.

I agree, it just looks weird and looks like it would be Painful to shoot. Is it a plastic frame can't tell from picture?

Looks like someone left a 1911 and a Springfield XD alone and that is the offspring.

You beat me to it.

Wow. Its been years since I've seen a Detonics pistol, given the original company went Tango Uniform. Still, that's not an unreasonable looking rig, just not sure if I'd want to handle one of them.

That's awesome.

Yep, the STI patent expired a year or so ago. So, I would assume there will be a bunch of double wide 1911's coming to the market in coming years…...

The article says it's slimmer than a traditional 1911 in the grip.

Well the STI grip is slimmer in thickness than a regular 1911 grip too.

Wow! I never knew that.

Most don't know that. The circumference is bigger of course, but it's very nice to carry as far as printing etc..

Is someone really going to argue .005 is slimmer? There will be that much difference in the grips or where you measure it. biggrin.gif

Ok. I'll be the odd man out here.

I like it.  Period.

Looks pretty similar to the Sig 250.

I'd certainly like to see and try one before buying...but...I do like it.

Oh...and Steel, may the ghost of Jerry Ahern torment your dreams for that low comment.

The point being that most assume the double stack grip to be thicker. I don't know what the detonics grip measures, I was just merely pointing out that even the sti grip is no thicker at present..

Always wanted two of the Combat Masters in an Alessi Double carry rig when I was reading Ahern's Survivalist stories

The only drawback to one is the 1500 price. That does put it into the lower end of the high priced 1911 pistols. Don't know if it's that good or not.

But I'd like to find out.
