We went through every stick of my deer sausage from last year in a few months because of these. I'm going to try them with pork sausage soon. I know they'll be just as good (not for you) but good!

I havent tried with pork yet. But im down to my last pack of deer sausage after this mornings batch. Let us know how the pork version turns out, like you said its probably just as good. I may even fry up some bacon and chop them up and give that a try too!

So these are basically sausage balls cooked muffin style?  Try some Tennessee Pride hot sausage.

That was my thought as well.

Of course, one benefit to this arrangement is that it's a lot easier to add that wonderful  condiment, butter to them.

that was the exact sausage I had in mind for this. I havent added any butter to them yet might have to try that, my arteries do not thank you MacGyver.

The one problem I have when I cook these is that when I'm cooking the sausage in the skillet, I cant stop eating it right out of the frying pan! By the time the sausage muffins get done, Im almost full.

You would think the way I eat I'd have my own tv show for being overweight. Thank goodness for high metabolism!

You've got to die of something.

My grandmother was always trying to get my grandfather to watch what he ate.  He had heart problems, so it was certainly warranted.  But, he drew the line at butter.  Whenever my grandmother gave him margarine, he wouldn't touch it.  When pressed, he'd reply that, "I trust cows more than I trust chemists."

He was ahead of his time, I guess.
