I have to ask why did my magnum research thread get deleted? I went to deliver the gun and came back to "close" it and it sayd "deleted by" and I can't get back into it. Is the new software not going to allow us to refer back to a for sale item for future reference to see how much one sold for?

I think Tungsten has said he was going to fix those issues as time permits. All new things have quirks.

It's probably a temporary glitch. My firearms classified ad got just deleted by itself as well.

I am not sure what's happening but am checking into it. None of the moderators are doing it.

I figured that when it said "deleted by" with no name.

The good news is that none of these ads are actually being deleted. If you go to the Classifieds sytem (link) you see that the ads are still very much there. The problem exists in the hoodoo-voodoo that the software does to copy those ads and make "threads" for them in the forums.

Those threads are getting marked as deleted for some reason. That's where the problem exists. It is misleading to see a thread marked as deleted when in fact the classified ad is still open as usual.

Correct, the threads are there simply to help advertise your listings but the listings themselves live inside of the classifieds system. As a seller you can go into your profile and in there you will see tabs for your open, closed, sold, purchased, or bidded on items:

http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/vbclassified.php?do=user&userid=353

Now, as the system is curently configured, the staff has elected to not allow at least what ever group I am in to not see closed listings so that does make it difficult to track previously sold items.

If the staff wishes to change this, you can do this by going to:

AdminCP >> vBClassified >> vBClassified Permissions

Update the following:

Can View Closed Ads where user is NOT seller or buyer!

Can see ALL closed ads in category views

If you are using "normal" groups, then add a "2" to what ever you have there and registered users will be able to see closed ads.

I hope that helps! I can't promise to check in often but I do try to look for issues or concerns when I see them.

Thanks!

Ken
