Drill press in Nashville?

Recommended Posts

Posted

I want to cut the gas check shank out of a couple of Lee 2 cavity molds, C-312-155 and C-309-150F.

Does anyone in the Nashville area have a drill press?  I will buy the 5/16 reamer or drill bit needed to cut out the shank.

A 'gunsmith' in the area offered to do this for $90.  This included "setup" charges.  (in my view, this amounts to a very effective 'sales prevention tool')

Thanks

You can buy a decent drill press from harbor freight in Nashville for about half that price, and use their 20% off coupon that is in all the papers, magazines, and mailbox flyers. It works well, I've got one but I'm out in Lebanon and can't have visitors at the shop.

A small machine shop might do it cheaper but if you are young and have a place to put a small press, I'd say you'd get your money outta it over the years. I certainly have. And your welcome to use mine, if your in this area.

I agree. If you're at all handy, a drill press should be in your toolbox (not literally)

What part of Mid-TN are we talking? I'm in West Nashville, and as long as you excuse my super messy shop, you're welcome to use mine. It's a 16 speed heavy-duty job.

I'm in La Vergne, just south of Nashville on I-24, you're welcome to come borrow my drill press as well.

Franklin here. I imagine there are a lot of avaiable presses in the area. Letting us know where you are would help with the offers.
