Cabela's Coming To Bellevue ???

15 years ago, Cabelas made a point to NOT build within certain distance of a Bass Pro, citing they were afraid it would conflict with business. I guess they figured there are enough rednecks to go around for both stores.

If they do a cabelas there,a gun range/shop at the old regal will be interesting. There is no gun anything between the gun shop on OHB. Shooters, and Dickson
This will be interesting.

^^  I wish, but after looking through Crosland Southeast's online presence, I am not sure if they would look to court a company like Cabelas.   They seem more like the (very nice) Publix, etc. type of developer.

Thread-surrection!!

Does anyone know if Crosland Southeast has a Cabelas in any of their other developments?

:hopeful:

Looked at their website, no Cabela's listed.  Looks like they focus on building what I've always referred to as 'pods'  where they have a bunch of houses/condos with shopping around them so the people never really need to leave their pod to do anything.

With Target, Wal-Mart, Lowes, Dick's, and Costco at Nashville West, I'm not sure which anchor store would be interested in Bellevue. There's already a Publix next door. I'd like to see an Academy on the west side, but I don't see why they'd take a gamble on going into a new development at a location with a history of not being able to support a shopping destination when the high-traffic Nashville West is just 2 exits away.

^^  True.  It wouldn't matter who developed this area.  It has a history of failure and disinterest.  It should most likely have mutliple anchors... good ones at that.   Hopefully, the dwelling portion will be innovative and forward reaching... raising the profile of the area.  If not, all bets are off.  As a West-Meade-r, I would hate to see the blight of a failed large-scale devepment in Bellevue.

Cabelas with a gun range next door at the old movie theatre? Sounds like a good way to spend an afternoon to me.

They'll get my business.

I watched this area live and die. I agree they need more than a single store that will have 50% sales and 50% gawkers and whiners. It's an interesting area for marketing as it had thriving stores that went away. I'm actually surprised they haven't stuffed more housing on their lot or but pods like Sam mentioned. I'd like to see cabellas as going anywhere near oprymills for bass pro is a nuisance.
