What's the safest ternate carry option for a woman?

Alternate! Not ternate :) Looking into several alternate carry options, including something for dresses, long drives, and running. I am concerned about the options not being custom for the gun. The gun is a MP Shield 9 btw. Like this one for running and some dresses: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00GU53VFK/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?ie=UTF8&smid=AO4HD803GPOGJ This one driving or long dresses (this one is a custom for the Shield, but an ankle): http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0086VZ7GC/ref=ox_sc_act_image_2?ie=UTF8&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER I have about decided on a DK Bullard or CB holster for everyday, but I would still much much rather not have to remove holster to use the restroom. So what are the general thoughts on these not custom holsters safety wise? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited by Ladyhay

For driving, these can be very handy. Easy to install and uninstall. The supplied holster is sort of a one-size-fits-all option. I have seen this system used with other holsters that are designed for a specific firearm. For running, maybe something like a fanny pack. Edited by TripleDigitRide

+1 what TDR said. I use the DeSantis ankle and enjoy it. I do believe it was molded for the pistol but others might fit. I will suggest the calf strap to hold it from dropping to the ankle bone and which ever you purchase check the fit and that the thumb strap holds it securely . A loose pistol in a cheep ankle holster will be its demise. It's also a good back up carry with slacks or blue jeans ( wide bottom, bell, flare, boot cut)
The wide elastic band holsters I have never tried, but have tucked a smaller pistol in a tuxedo holster under a loose dress shirt.

I have never wore a dress or heels just FYI. Lol good luck with your decision. There's a good reason why you read that sale post that starts" cleaning out the holster draw" !

A while back, there were several ladies that thought the belly band holsters were just the ticket. Same idea as the first picture but rides higher up and is a bit cheaper.

I was questioning if the fanny packs and other generic holsters needed something else to cover the trigger, or if they were safe just the way they were- without being a molded custom fit...make sense? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
