I separate my large and small primers and just bring one type to the range and keep them separated when i bring the brass home I shot that day. Absolutely nothing wrong with SPP .45 ACP. Honestly I'd rather have all SPP brass so I could just keep one type of pistol primer on hand and not try and find yet another kind of primer. Loading 9mm, 40 S&W and .45 ACP would be a lot easier if they were all the same, so I wouldn't have to change my press over to accept different size primers as well.

I separate mine.  No issues here.  I have plenty of primers for both.  Just a little annoying when priming!

Do not throw them out because you never know when you will need them. I would probably just store them or load them and use them places that I cant pickup my brass.

This is one of the reasons that I really wish that I could find a .45 acp to like so that I can use a larger assortment of primers. I first saw spp 45acp about two years ago and appears they are becoming more common.

Their no good just send them to me....

Do not send them to bigun, he is just going to use those dangerous small primer 45 ACP brass. Why risk his life and you being sued. I will gladly "destroy" that small primer brass. Heck, I will even pay for shipping.

In all seriousness I LOVE small primer 45 brass. The reason is I can use small rifle primers to load it up. That is one less primer type I need to have on hand. I quit loading large primer 45 ACP brass a long time ago and put large primer brass in my end of the world bucket. I have shot a metric ton of both large and small primer brass and cannot see a difference between them performance wise. Just make sure your pistol will ignite small rifle, if not use small pistol. I use small rifle in my pistol calibers, 45 ACP as well as 9mm.

Let me clarify. There's nothing inherently wrong with it, I just wish there wasn't both small and large primed brass available. It doesn't take a lot to aggravate me, and taking the extra time to separate them, and then finding a surprise you missed while trying to cram a large primer in a small hole certainly does the trick.

It was a solution to a problem that didn't exist.

I'm with you on this one gregintenn. I try to weed them out of my brass when I get home from the range, but invariably miss 5 or 13 of them. I wish they'd at least color them pink or something to make my life easier. Mind you...I still save them for hard times and would have no problem shooting them up, if I ran out of LPP and couldn't find more, LOL.

My first encounter on finding brass in the same caliber but using either large or small primers based on who manufactured the brass was with 7.62X39.  That was about 12-15 years ago.  Then it happened to me again with the 45 ACP.  Ammo loaded with either size primer was reliable to fire and function, gave me the option of using the primer size of my choice or as available, had no effect on accuracy, but did require that I sort and separate brass for this feature.  In the long run, I don't care which size primer sparks my loads.  Both have worked well for me for ages (well, I am a bit long on the tooth) and I trust they will continue to do so well after I have quit this activity.  Let's jus hope that Berdan primers don't come back into favor with the brass makers.  That would be a real pain.  Will this dual primer size occur with another caliber???  Probably.  Who knows which caliber will be next?  The Shadow do, but he ain't telling.

I'll trade ya large primer for small primer. I've got a lot more small pistol primers than I do large

I would if you lived in Chattanooga.

I reload it with no problems either.  Just separate it from LP brass.

I have a few hundred of each LPP and SPP. Haven't reloaded any SPP yet but it makes sense to me to consolidate and use the same primer for all my pistols (SPP).
