XDS Trigger Pull - Post repair

Recommended Posts

Posted

I picked up a post repair/recall XDS in 9mm. The trigger is not as smooth as my SW M&P 9c nor my prior Shield. Has anyone noticed a heavier and spongy trigger pull after they got it back from recall/repair? What can be done for this trigger pull. I know there is a spring kit for XDS to improve trigger but internet  videos show a pretty complicated disassembly and reassembly. What have other owners done?

I like the feel of the gun and it's size, but don't like the trigger. What to do?

I've read of a lot of people who have had the same experience on their XDs post-recall.  Most of what I've read seems to indicate, though,  that with a lot of dry firing/actual firing, the trigger eventually gets better.

This.
I've dry fired the hell out of mine and it has really smoothed out, not as nice as prerecall, but definitely an improvement.

I read & heard a mixed bag of stories on the XDs post recall trigger but haven't any negative issues with my own post recall purchase XDs 9's trigger. It was what actually decided the issue of purchasing the pistol for me. I can't say if mine is a representative sample or not but will probably purchase an XDs 45 w 4" barrel to complement it. My only reason for that would be winter vs. Spring/Summer carry.

I have two post recall XDs, a 9 mm and a 45 acp.  The trigger on each has been acceptable and they have been reliable with any ammo I've put in them.
