220 gr, Hollow base wad cutter, over 6.5 gr Titegroup and powder coated, shot from my SBH.

I did load them backwards, so the hollow was pointing out.

After recovery from a sand bank, 207 to 212 gr., expanded to over .75".

I am impressed!

I bet that would put a hurting on anything it hits. And you can probably load it backwards for a monsterously sized hollow point. There is a similar bullet that is touted as a safety bullet. It has a hllow point from tip to tail and breaks up upon contact with anything. I seen it on CB a while back.

On a side note I am going to start testing bullet performance in the next week or two. I picked up about 20 pounds of a material that will act like ballistic gelatin. Although it probably will not similate flesh as far as penetration it should give a good indication of how the bullet will perform. And with close to 20 pounds I should be able to shoot it with moderate rifle rounds as well. I cannot wait to test some of my cast flat point loads. Best part is it is reuseable as long as I do nto contaminate it with other materials.

Can ya make the Ballistic Gelatin for less than 100 dollars, every where I have checked

the stuff is to high.

This is about as low I have found the homemade stuff

I just cant spend that much, my sand pit works well enough.

I have been told this stuff works really, really well so I bought all Home Depot and Lowes had. I got close to 20 pounds and will likely get another 10 when they get more in.

I am not worried about how well the block replicates flesh. I am worried about how the bullet performs in media. I might pick up a BB gun to see how this stuff meters compared to FBI gelatin.

Ballistic gel is a HUGE pain to deal with. You heat it, poor it in the container then cool it. It cannot get too hot after it is set otherwise it will start to melt. It can also begin to mold so a lot of people add a small amount of bleach to it. And then if it gets contaminated it is pretty much ruined unless you have a way to filter it when hot. It looks like the one you linked doesn't suffer from a lot of the problems with other gelatin products.

Yes, WW only, sized to .430, my SBH "likes" the size, powder coat is the lube.
