Anyone have gap/supplemental insurance to current health care plan.

New insurance policy's changes have the out of pocket cost getting unmanageable.Or at least uncomfortable !

Look into Blue Cross Blue Shield of TN Advantage Plans. I have the basic "Sapphire" plan and premium is very affordable: free. Just the standard Medicare deduction from Social Security.

Advantage plans from any carrier aren't "gap", they replace traditional Medicare entirely.

You do pay certain costs like $20 primary care visit,  $40 specialist visit, etc. You pay for certain tests (MRI is whopping $150) etc. But depending on your projected health needs, and assuming the doctors you like are in the HMO (all mine were, and all the big health syndicates here are), can be helluva deal.

Since I was paying $6K per year for individual insurance that had a $5K deductible for last 10 years, it's a dream. I can only be out of pocket for $4400 bucks in a year even if I had a heart bypass and brain transplant.

I'm not near the age range specified, but my work introduced gap insurance this year to make us less objectionable when they bent us over regarding our regular insurance. I will never use it unless I'm hospitalized for some major issue but supposedly they didn't "cut" our coverage.
