are school shootings directly damning the ar-15?

You turn on the news and see a new school shooting followed by the sentence that follows: the person used an ar-15. Of course the person saying this is most likely not a "gun grabber" but do y'all think it is damning the naming of the ar-15?

Its a great scape goat. Everyone knows it's name now, just like the AK. Gets a lot more attention. Easier for the media to redact their original comments than be late to the game and never have covered the story at all.

They can paint it in a bad light all they want. Sheep will listen and believe what they hear, people that have brains enough to think for themselves will know it's an inanimate object. I will continue to build, tweak, and shoot AR's as long as I'm alive and able either way

AR means Armalite, not assault rifle as most ninnies believe.

of course it has been bastardized to the point that the real definition is meaningless.

actually the person saying it would be part of the mainstream media which means it would be a gun-grabber, with about a 95% chance if on TV.  Not sure why you would think otherwise.

The AR is self-defeating.   It *looks* military, which is offensive to gun-grabbers.  It holds more than 1 round, which makes it offensive to gun-grabbers.   That it has been used in 10 or so crimes since 1985 makes it ultra important to ban in their minds.   Throw in all the yahoos toting them out to wal-mart etc to make their case against gun control.  Throw in all the videos of people doing stupid stuff with em -- simulated full auto fire, for example -- as any good gun grabber knows, pulling the trigger really fast is the same as a mini-gun in firepower and super accurate, able to auto-target each victim in turn leaving the shooter free to focus on trigger jockeying.   Did I mention that it LOOKS SCARY?

if they think guns are scary...they should imagine a society without them...where strong can take anything from the weak that he wants, because they lack the even playing field to fend him off.

If you will remember back to the Navy Yard shooting it was blabbed all over the news that an AR was used and then all of the news medias ended up with egg on their faces when it turned out to be one of Uncle Joe Bidens Shotguns and there was no AR near the scene. I would be willing to bet that 80% or more of the reporters working for main stream medias cannot look at an AR, AK, SKS, M1 carbine or Straight Mag fed Thompson and pick out the AR......................jmho

They (antis) are trying so hard to demonize the AR15 that they will go out of there way to throw in...

"Breaking news: School shooting! Shooter did not use AR15" or "was it an AR15?", "no word yet if it was an AR15", "AR15" "AR15" "AR15"...

or in the case of the navy yard shooting

"Tactical AK 15 shotgun assault machinegun shotgun"

Makes me throw up on the inside every time. The casual listener/watcher who knows nothing still hears the words," AR, 15, AW, dead people" and goes on thinking they were used. Shameful manipulation.

Jonin, even scarier when you add all those "to-better-kill-you-with" high tech military sighting systems, flaslights, lasers, bipods and bayonets.

Scary, no.

Scary cool, yes
