Good afternoon gents, I am about a day away from picking up a Ruger American model in 308, and was curious to hear your guys' perspective, especially owners of the model. It has a Vortex crossfire II scope mounted, which Im not particularly versed in. I actually tend to stick with iron sights but this model doesnt give that option.

This would be the first "new" rifle ive owned, as I have an itch for older long and scatter guns. Itd be great to hear from owners of this bad boy. Thanks guys,

I have a 270 in for repair on a sticky bolt problem. All I have read about the 308 is great. If they need to replace my rifle, I may go to the 308.
