Nashville area: FFL to send my gun *out*?

Recommended Posts

Used to use Guns and Leather but they say that they no longer will send a customer's gun out to another FFL

Any recommendations for an FFL dealer who does this?  I thought they all would (for a fee)

Thanks.  Trying to get this one out of here and am tired of the UPS run around

Use usps or fedex. A ffl will use the same.

He said he was tired of the UPS runaround, and I know just what he's talking about.

Btw, neither FedEx nor UPS will send between two non-license holders anymore, so in-state private sales of handguns that need shipping are impossible unless you lie about it, which violates not only the carrier's TOS but federal law too, and leaves only USPS for in-state long gun shipping between individuals, and good luck with that depending.

What UPS runaround? I send through them all the time. Haven't had much issue other than a new guy not knowing how it's done. Other than that, seems just as easy as mailing anything else. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don't know much anything about it, but I seem to recall getting a prepaid shipping label and pickup time when I sent my Henry back. Memory on that detail is funny as the LGS opted to send it in for me so never did print or use the shipping label. Will UPS accept a firearm at a home pickup? I guess they do for gun stores so it would seem likely?

Exactly.  Now imagine that no one is there to figure it out.  Yes indeed--drove all the way out to the Customer Counter (as required per UPS regulations) and I ended up leaving 45 minutes later, WITH my package.

Unless they've changed, both UPS and FedEx will indeed pick up a call tag label from home (return label issued by a company).

As little as 6 years ago before the net became all pervading, I (FedEx Ground) would actually bring the label to your address to put on your "supposed to be" already packaged item.

You can also drop your return tag stuff at a UPS Store or FedEx Office, rather than a hub. They won't even blink, even if they notice it's obviously to a gun company.

Actually, if you have account, you can print your own label and do the same, again no need to go to a hub. They don't care, and won't ask anything. And regardless of an erroneous ATF FAQ that may still be on their site, you only have to notify carrier by federal law if going between two non-licensees, though you are breaking the carrier's terms of services, which in general I see as no big whup as long as you're sending it the correct class for the type gun (both require some form of overnight for handguns).

I don't know. I've never had any problems shipping guns or NFA to a FFL out of state. UPS even called once and asked if it was okay to leave NFA toys in my truck that was parked outside. Remington shipped a rifle directly back to me. Doesn't seem like rocket science to me, but your UPS hub may be lacking.
