Those men who jumped behind the wall and stormed the beaches had balls that clank.  I was always proud to serve in a unit that carried their legacy and history.

We had three WWII veterans at the Sergeants Major Academy graduation today.

My great uncle who was a pastor of a church I attended stormed the beaches that day.  One Sunday while giving a service, he retold his story, it was so vivid!  I never seen a man weep as bad as he did while telling the story.  He spoke of the blood in the water, the smell, and the screams of boys calling for their momas.  He was a great man!
