Headed to St louis in a couple days...

Recommended Posts

Well, my Fiancee is planning for us to take a trip to St louis, Mo. In a couple days. We will be driving and both have our HCP's. I know Illinois is not friendly toward us carrying in their state so i plan on federally carrying in the trunk while we are in that state( short time we hope). Is there any other things we should be aware of when carrying in and around St. Louis?

My first time going there( and crossing the Mississippi river). She's bringing her 6 year old along( he's good, just we have to keep him entertained).

Thanks...

They have an awesome zoo, with a scenic train you can ride through the whole thing. Stop in St. Charles which is a nice small historic town, old fashioned, lots of nice places to shop and eat, casino boat docked there if you like to gamble. And Union Station is amazing, cool castle and lots of great vintage decor and shops.

as is Busch Stadium

It's been a couple of years, but I saw no postings at Busch stadium. I know at least one guy who's watched a game there armed. :shhh:

St. Louis is a good place to have a gun with you.

The Arch is the only place I found you couldn't carry. They have very tight security there. No guns. No assisted open knives.

I found the Cahokia Indian mounds a very interesting place to visit.

We went to St. Louis for our honeymoon back in November. The zoo was amazing, worth paying for but it is free. The city museum was great, wish I was younger/smaller so could have ran around it more - the 10 story slide is worth the climb (or take the elevator to the roof).

If you got to Union Station, stop at the fudge shop (I think that is the name actually) - amazing fudge.

There is a lot of information here about Missouri at this link... http://www.missouricarry.com/forums/ One can view as a guest.

This is a link to the Revised Statutes covering places off limits, etc. http://www.moga.mo.gov/statutes/C500-599/5710000107.HTM

Busch Stadium is covered in the above statute (subdivision # 16) but no-gun signs don't carry the force of the law in Missouri except Federal property. I have posted a couple of subdivisions of which there are 17 pertaining to off limits carry from the above statues. If found with a weapon take it to the car if asked to leave property. Parking Lots are OK most places except Federal property. Like has been mentioned no bus carry or metrolink.

(15) Any private property whose owner has posted the premises as being off-limits to concealed firearms by means of one or more signs displayed in a conspicuous place of a minimum size of eleven inches by fourteen inches with the writing thereon in letters of not less than one inch. The owner, business or commercial lessee, manager of a private business enterprise, or any other organization, entity, or person may prohibit persons holding a concealed carry permit or endorsement from carrying concealed firearms on the premises and may prohibit employees, not authorized by the employer, holding a concealed carry permit or endorsement from carrying concealed firearms on the property of the employer. If the building or the premises are open to the public, the employer of the business enterprise shall post signs on or about the premises if carrying a concealed firearm is prohibited. Possession of a firearm in a vehicle on the premises shall not be a criminal offense so long as the firearm is not removed from the vehicle or brandished while the vehicle is on the premises. An employer may prohibit employees or other persons holding a concealed carry permit or endorsement from carrying a concealed firearm in vehicles owned by the employer;

If such person refuses to leave the premises and a peace officer is summoned, such person may be issued a citation for an amount not to exceed one hundred dollars for the first offense. If a second citation for a similar violation occurs within a six-month period, such person shall be fined an amount not to exceed two hundred dollars and his or her permit, and, if applicable, endorsement to carry concealed firearms shall be suspended for a period of one year. If a third citation for a similar violation is issued within one year of the first citation, such person shall be fined an amount not to exceed five hundred dollars and shall have his or her concealed carry permit, and, if applicable, endorsement revoked and such person shall not be eligible for a concealed carry permit for a period of three years. Upon conviction of charges arising from a citation issued pursuant to this subsection, the court shall notify the sheriff of the county which issued the concealed carry permit, or, if the person is a holder of a concealed carry endorsement issued prior to August 28, 2013, the court shall notify the sheriff of the county which issued the certificate of qualification for a concealed carry endorsement and the department of revenue. The director of revenue shall notify the licensee that he or she must apply for a new license pursuant to chapter 302 which does not contain such endorsement. The notice issued by the department of revenue shall be mailed to the last known address shown on the individual's driving record. The notice is deemed received three days after mailing. I guess I just didn't "get" the city museum. :shake: My wife was like "Why the hell did you want to come here?"

We caught it on an empty day and pretty much had the run of the place. I don't know about the rest of my crew, but I had fun.

Well, back from my trip to St. Louis Mo. We stayed at a Hyatt Regency hotel in Chesterfield Mo. Way out from the city but in a good/safe location. Did the arch tour( left guns in the car), Fiancee had to toss her pepper spray because she forgot she had it. But it was an experience. Toured the old courthouse, full of history. But getting to the arch was another story. The MoDOT is doing a facelift around that area so we had to figure out another way to the parking lot. But we got there and had a good time. Tuesday we did the City Museum( not really much a museum, but a huge play area of climbing and slides). Kinda like "Chutes and Ladders". Then Tuesday we went to the Zoo. Admission was free but parking was $15. But well worth it. ( i was able to conceal carry into the park and no metal detectors there). Wednesday we went to Six flags( no carry) cause they metal detect and inspect bags. But we had a good time. Proud of my girl, I talked her into a loopty-loop ride( her words) more than once, and she liked them. But little man still be ing scared stuck to the less upside down rides.

Just was glad to get over the Ohio river back into Kentucky so i could openly carry. After having to conceal in one state and not be able to have access in another, It was nice (and makes you appreciate where you live) to be back in the south again.

Thanks ya'll for all the help.
