Hi, I just really need a little advise, have not been doing any shooting in the last 6 yrs. or so, but have in the last yr. bought about 16 diff. guns

and really need to test them out.

I used to mainly go to prentiss cooper, but recently have read on this board comments about many reckless folks down there!

I guess it is about the only free place to go, i am mainly wondering as to when they are closed due to hunts in the next few months!

I remember they used to be closed tue. and wed. and always was to crowded on the weekends, is it still kept up pretty good as far as target stands etc. go?

I also really regretted about Darrs in Red Bank closing last yr. right after Classic Pawn in Chick. Ga. closed, it seems to me there just are not many

gun stores worth going to, just to browse!

Except VOW in Clev. that have any type of mil-surps available, but i had found about 5 guns at Value Pawn which is as far as i know they are the 2 only pawnshops that carry guns in this area! I have been to Bentons as well as Big Daddys in AL. and Guntrader in Ring. but their selections are very limited and high priced! I had also heard that Jerry who used to run Classic Pawn, was thinking about opening up another business, anybody know anything on that? I wish he would!

Thank You!

well PC is the only place I know of that's free in the area (I've only lived here 9 months). Hunt dates are listed at http://state.tn.us/agriculture/forestry/stateforests/prenticecooper.html .

for a good shop in the area...now that skip has closed down I can really only recommend Hero-Gear www.hero-gear.com in Winchester. It's a bit of a drive, but Joe and Dan make it worth while with the selection, prices, and service.

Thanks, for the info, I did not know that skip has closed! I was there about 2 months ago, the place was very small but the people there were super. I have never been to Winchester, but it sound like a nice drive some weekend! Thank You!

Quick Cash Pawn on Rossville Blvd carries guns. They are in the old Long John Silvers restaurant building on the left headed toward Rossville. They have a good selection and don't be too shocked at the sticker price on the guns,it is the out the door price. If you live in Marion Co. then Hero Gear would not be too bad a drive for you.
