I broke my first one today. Never seen it in any job I've had using M4's, or in my Army career. Seems silly, but hundreds of thousands of rounds later… Never seen it. Just the tip broke off as well. I know parts wear, I get that, but again, just funny to me because I've never seen it and this things still pretty new with less than 1K rounds on it.

Its an AIM surplus V2 NiB M16 BCG, and they said they have a lifetime guarantee. I've already emailed them, so we'll put that to the test.

I had this exact thing happen today.  Same BCG, same brake, just the tip that strikes the primer, less than 1000 rounds fired. .  I was searching the internet about this problem and found your thread.  It may be a defective design or a really bad batch of pins.  But AIM sent a new firing pin no charge.

Broken two bolt lugs at different times on an M4. Never seen a firing pin break.

Parts are so readily available right now that any serious shooter ought to have a few of just about every spare part out there. The most recent panic and wait times for the most basic of parts reinforces my need to have spare parts almost to a fault.

That being said, I've never busted a firing pin.
