I'm guessing your doughnuts were good? I got some from the Nashville Krispy Kreme a few months ago and they had a terrible chemical taste. I asked the guy at the counter what that was about. He said it was the new trans-fat free oil they were using.

take them Crispy kremes and pan fry them in a little butter, they get gooey and the sugar on them kinda caramelizes a little. Oooh it is a treat.
