as I mentioned in the HCP waiting time thread, I finally got my HCP. my mother-in-law called today informing me that "I'd better get that gun registered before I carry it" now I know as well as ya'll do that you don't have to, and in fact there are no provisions setin place to register a gun, but how do I convince someone who "knows that you have to get the gun registered" that you actually can't register a gun in Tn?

I know, tell her to kiss it and to call the cops and tell them you are carrying an unresistered handgun. Let them explain TN has no handgun registration.

so, you're not married are you?

Been married for almost 23 wonderful years. (next month). I speak my mind and tell em like it is, I have a loving wife that has my back in more way than one.:tough:

I was being serious though let her call the cops on you for carrying an "unresistered" firearm, I'd like to be one the line when the cop tells her ain't no such a thing in TN.

What happens if you get one of those cops that thinks there is a registry? Then I think it would more trouble to him to be worth it.

Just tell her it was registered when you got the permit, and it was registered again when you bought it, so now you are SUPER registered for good measure...somethings just arent worth the argument....

Then, when she says "Oh good" smile while you hand her her sign. :tough:

sometimes you just cant fix...well nevermind

If you MIL is anything like mine, I am starting to fonally understand the saying "you can't talk horse sense to a jacka%$"

Like others have said, I have had to resort to "oh yea, they're all registered and legal."

Moron.

On the brighter side, I have a nice pork tenderloin on the grill and hope to be in dinner-bliss in about 10 minutes!

well, if I hadn't bought it from her husband....

Lets see here. You got it from your father in law did you? :hiding:

Call her from a pay phone, and tell her you went to the police station to register it when they came storming out of the back, guns drawn, ordering you to the floor!

They then tell you the gun has came back "hot" and was used in a crime.

Now your locked up and need bail money!

Next time she asks simply tell her that it's all squared away and now thanks to her advice you are absolutely legal and "thank you very much for your sage advice, mom". Be sure you give her a great big hug as you thank her and grin really, really big something like this- :slap:

Note: If anyone else such as your wife should be in the surrounding area at the time you intend to employ this strategy please advise them to don their hip waders because the shi* is about to get very, very deep.:hiding:
